Configurable grid
From 1 to 25 tiles per screen, with automatic channel paging. Switch layouts instantly, also with Ctrl+1…5.
QEye brings the images from the cameras of hundreds of installations into a single application, in real time, turning your control room into a centralised supervision point.
It is compatible with DVRs and NVRs of different brands and models, including older ones, letting you manage heterogeneous infrastructures without using dozens of different software packages or constantly accessing different web interfaces.
One application. All your installations. A single point of control.
Whoever manages many installations opens a web page for every DVR, or installs a different software for each brand, or makes do with apps designed for a single home. Credentials end up in a spreadsheet, no one knows whether a site is offline until footage is needed, and the room never has an overall view.
QEye was born from a concrete need: that of an operations room called to monitor hundreds of installations spread across as many sites, making the operator's work simpler through a single point of observation. In place of dozens of different interfaces, often slow and complex to use, QEye offers a centralised, immediate and intuitive view.
From 1 to 25 tiles per screen, with automatic channel paging. Switch layouts instantly, also with Ctrl+1…5.
A side column with every installation and its channels. Search by site name or IP address and immediately find what you need.
A status dot for each installation, updated automatically in the background. You know at once whether a site is reachable, before you even need it.
The grid runs light streams; with a double click the channel goes full screen and switches to full quality. To read a plate or recognise a face.
The view rotates from one installation to the next at regular intervals, in a continuous loop. With forty sites and one monitor, you see them all without touching the mouse.
Fit with letterboxing, stretch, crop or force a 16:9, 4:3, 16:10, 5:4, 1:1 ratio. The change is immediate, without restarting the streams.
Restart the single stream, save a PNG snapshot or copy the stream address, right from the tile, with a right click.
Dark interface for dimly lit rooms and long shifts. Help (F1), settings (F2), restart streams (F5), tour (F8), full screen (F11).
Up to 4 monitors driven by a single PC: spread the grids across several screens and widen the workstation's field of view.
QEye integrates with existing GPRS/LAN radio-alarm systems: on an alarm it automatically shows the operator the relevant view, for an immediate check of the event.
Keeping twenty-five streams in high resolution would bring any PC and any network to its knees. QEye uses the secondary — light — streams for the overview, and calls full resolution only on the channel you are actually watching.
Many channels together, low CPU and bandwidth use. The room stays smooth even on a normal PC.
The channel instantly switches to full quality, with hardware decoding on the GPU. The detail arrives when it counts.
If a stream drops, QEye picks it up on its own with progressively spaced attempts. No channel stays black for no reason.
If a stream freezes without closing — a classic of remote installations — QEye notices, flags it and restarts it. No frozen frames mistaken for reality.
The continuous rotation across sites keeps the chosen layout and monitors the whole fleet even with a single monitor.
Staggered connection start-up and a stream cap per installation: if a device accepts few connections, QEye respects it instead of overloading it. RTSP over TCP transport against lost packets.
DVR passwords are never stored in clear text. They are encrypted with DPAPI and readable only by the Windows user who entered them, on that PC.
Export the entire list of sites into an AES-256 encrypted file, protected by a password you choose. Replicate forty installations onto a second PC in seconds, instead of re-entering them by hand.
QEye does not record or transmit any video: it only shows the streams of devices that are already yours. No data leaves your network.
A single installer for Windows, with no prerequisites: no .NET runtime, no VLC, no Java. Launch the setup and the software is ready, with a desktop icon and optional auto-start.
Enter the sites from the graphical interface: name, host or IP, port, credentials and channel count. No configuration file to edit, no RTSP address to know.
The three-step connection test checks that the device responds, that the credentials are right and that the video really arrives, showing resolution and codec. If something is wrong, it tells you exactly where.

The CMS software supplied by manufacturers (iVMS-4200, SmartPSS and the like) is built for the devices of a single brand and for the installer, not for those watching many sites. Here is how QEye addresses the same needs.
| System requirements | Manufacturer CMSiVMS-4200, SmartPSS, etc. | QEye |
|---|---|---|
| Hardware compatibility | Single-brand/closed: works well only with devices of the same brand, often incompatible or limited with other brands. | 100% universal multi-brand: handles any NVR, DVR or IP camera via standard RTSP/ONVIF streaming. |
| Remote multi-site capacity | Heavily limited: slowdowns or structural stalls beyond 16–32 devices in total. | Multi-site scalability: smooth management of hundreds of installations and remote sites in a single centralised interface. |
| Cyclic tours and automation | Complex or rigid: often limited to cameras on the same local NVR, with cumbersome setup. | Smart operational tour: automatic sequences and programmable cyclic switching across different installations, without overload. |
| Resource usage (CPU / RAM) | Heavy and bloated: suites that load dozens of unused modules, with frequent crash risk on long sessions. | Ultra-light and responsive: instant start-up, optimised memory and small footprint for continuous 24/7 operation. |
| WAN / VPN connection | Rigid: black screens, buffer errors or interface freezes on remote micro-disconnections. | Network resilience: automatic reconnections handled intelligently, without interrupting the monitoring cycle. |
| NVR load management | Often attempts permanent connections, exhausting the bandwidth and output channels of the NVR processor. | On-demand streams: queries only the channels active on screen so as not to saturate the remote hardware. |
| Operator experience | Interfaces crowded with technical settings and recording parameters not needed for monitoring. | Monitoring-focused interface: clean layout, quick switching between installations, zero distractions. |
| Costs and licensing | Free but limited: beyond the basic limits it forces a move to costly Enterprise platforms (HikCentral, DSS Pro). | Simple, affordable model: an annual per-workstation licence, with no limit on the number of channels or installations. |
QEye is, deliberately, a live-view-only tool. It does not record, does not play back archives, does not do video analytics or PTZ control. All its energy goes into giving you, in real time and reliably, the overview of all your sites — which is exactly what a control room really needs.
QEye integrates with all IP and coaxial systems, DVRs, NVRs and individual cameras that use the standard ONVIF and RTSP protocols, regardless of brand. You can manage a mixed fleet of devices from different manufacturers, including older ones, from a single interface. If you have any doubts about your models, we can check compatibility together.
No. The installer is a single package and requires no prerequisites: no VLC, no .NET runtime, no Java. Launch the setup and the software is ready to use.
Yes. Passwords are never stored in clear text: they are encrypted with DPAPI, the Windows data protection service, and readable only by the user who entered them on that PC. When you export the configuration for another PC, the file is AES-256 encrypted with a password you choose.
Yes. You can export the entire list of sites into an encrypted file and import it onto a second PC in seconds, without re-entering the installations by hand. The number of workstations is part of what we define in the quote.
No to both. QEye is a live-view-only tool: it does not record or transmit content, and it does not replace the DVR. It stands alongside it, giving the operator a single point of observation for all sites.
The price depends on the number of installations and workstations, and on any customisations. We define it with a dedicated quote: write to us at info@qovix.it describing your situation.
